Welcome to Safe Communities - Halifax Regional Municipality web site.  Halifax Regional Municipality's Safe Communities is dedicated to making our communities a safer place to live, learn, work and play".

Halifax Regional Municipality was designated as a Safe Community in 2003.  We work towards reducing injuries in HRM, facilitating networking in the community and educating the public around injury prevention and safety.

HRM Safe Communities is lead by a Leadership Table comprised of community volunteers and representatives from Police, Fire, RCMP, Canadian Red Cross, NS Safety Council, Capital Health, Child Safety Link, Workers Compensation Board, Department of National Defence and the business community.

Volunteers from the community are always welcomed and we invite you to become a member of our Leadership Table.
